Inox
Emcie, September 30, 2005
Photographers working 150 years ago printed on metal plates. Harking back to these origins, artist Nicolas Ruel has produced an impressive collection of large format prints on stainless steel. His exhibition, entitled Inox, needed a suitable location, and so the new Caisse de Dépôt et Placement (CDP) was selected owing to its 10,000 sq. ft. common space, called the Parquet, enclosed in a spine-like atrium with 125-foot high glass walls and  hardwood floors. The consortium of Gauthier, Daoust Lestage Inc., Faucher Aubertin Brodeur Gauthier, and Les architectes Lemay et associés, designed the CDP with this luminous, beautiful and balanced space, which creates an interior bridge linking the restaurant Toqué! and the Hotel W.
